Sabyinyo Lodge is a quietly luxurious community-owned lodge offering unforgettable mountain gorilla trekking in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, is the perfect place to stay before and after your gorilla trekking experience. In the foothills of the mist, the enveloped Virunga Massif nestles beautiful Sabyinyo.
Sabyinyo itself is a main building with large living areas and a dining room. The rooms are cottages located nearby to the main building with privacy. The main building is where you eat and also a lovely place to relax in the afternoon.
The cottages are luxurious, the lodges are heated by wood fireplaces. The staff put hot water bottles in your beds at night so it is very cozy to sleep. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are well appointed. The lodge is very eco-friendly.
At Wilderness Sabyinyo you can get up close to the stories of the land, the wilderness, the wildlife and people. Just by staying here, you contribute to wildlife conservation and community empowerment initiatives. You will feel the power of resilience all around you.

The accommodation at Sabyinyo comprises of 6 charming stone cottages, 2 luxurious suites with King-size four-poster beds and one spacious family unit with two separate bedrooms. Each elegant cottage features large sitting areas, fireplaces, stylish en-suite bathrooms and a sheltered veranda with cinematic views over the volcanoes.
Cuisine
The meals at Sabyinyo are designed with sustainability in mind, using healthy, flavorful recipes that tread lightly on the Earth. Daily harvests from our organic vegetable gardens inspire our menu of traditional dishes sprinkled with cosmopolitan flair. It goes without saying our meals are served with warm Rwandan hospitality in this dreamy, mist-cloaked setting.
