This 5 day wildlife gorilla safari takes you to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park for an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience and then to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savannah park for wildlife viewing. The tour starts and ends in Kigali and offers a perfect blend of adventure, nature and breathtaking landscapes.
Day1: Kigali – Akagera National Park
Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by our company guide/driver, who will shortly brief you about your entire trip. Then you will proceed to Akagera National Park, arriving in the evening. You check into your reserved lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Ruzizi Tented Lodge. Meal Plan: F/B
Day2: Wildlife viewing and boat Ride
Morning early breakfast and after proceed to the park for an early for a game drive offering you an opportunity to spot a variety of wild animals such as elephants, buffaloes, lions, giraffes, Impalas, baboons, Oribi and so many others. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon continue for a boat ride along Lake Ihema where you will have a closer look at the hippos and crocodiles and water birds. Retire back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day3: Akagera – Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, embark the jeep back to Kigali. Then after you will continue north to Volcanoes National Park home to the famous mountain gorillas. Drive to check in at your lodge in Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel. Meal Plan: F/B
Day4: Gorilla Trekking Adventure – Twin lakes
The following day, you will wake up very early for breakfast and report the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. You will join other trekkers in groups of 8 people, and with armed rangers. You will enter the jungle in search of mountain gorillas and when found, you will spend 1 hour in the presence of the gorillas while watching them as they go on with their lives and take pictures of them. You’ll return to the park’s headquarters to be rewarded with gorilla certificates. Then, you’ll head back to your lodge. In the evening, you will have a visit to the scenic twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. You’ll return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day5: Golden Monkeys – Kigali
After an early hearty breakfast, you’ll head into Volcanoes National Park for a memorable Golden Monkey trekking experience. These lively and endangered primates offer a truly unique encounter in their natural bamboo forest habitat. After the trek, you’ll return to the lodge for a delicious lunch and a moment to freshen up.
In the afternoon, you’ll drive back to Kigali, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport for your departure flight back home. End of service
